SUBSTANCE & DRUG AWARENESS
The aim of the course is to increase the participants’ knowledge and understanding of substance misuse by young people and its effects on young people and their families, with the aim of keeping children and young people safe.
It is hoped that by the end of the course you should:
- Be able to demonstrate your understanding of the changing world of substance misuse and the reasons behind it
- Apply learning in your everyday role
- Develop methods of working which promote fair and inclusive practice to all children, young people and families
- Have some knowledge of the law in relation to drugs and alcohol and understand changes in legislation
