I want to let you know how much I appreciate the significant support you are giving to R. This is his third placement and I have noted very significant improvements in his behaviour ,rationality in speech and maturity in making decisions. You have supported him to get a job. Understandably it was hard for him, but the fact that he spent a week in job is encouraging.
Historically R would miss from home or swear profoundly when agitated. He did not want to hear about being taken into care, and hinted on running away or killing himself, but he has totally turned round to be a positive young man. He has shared that your staff are like family to him, and if his wishes and feelings were to be taken on board, he would be happy continuing in your placement until the time he transitions into independent living. My role as his social worker is to ensure his wishes and feelings are respected and actioned.
Once again thank you for a job well done Care Afloat.
