We hope everyone had a restful and enjoyable half-term break, recharging for the exciting weeks ahead. It has been a wonderful start to the second half of the Spring Term, with lots of exciting activities already taking place.
In Food Technology, our students have been getting creative and hands-on in the kitchen, with many of them baking scrumptious cookies. It is always great to see their skills improve, and the sweet treats were certainly a hit!
In the world of sports, we have had a fun and active start to the term. Football sessions have been in full swing, bringing out the team spirit and competitive edge in all participants. Additionally, boxing classes have been keeping our students fit and focused, encouraging both physical and mental resilience.
This Thursday, we were thrilled to welcome Hill Vale Animal Therapy into school for a special session. The students and staff alike had a fantastic time interacting with the animals, and Jo, the therapist, shared her extensive knowledge about each animal in an engaging and informative way. It was a wonderful learning experience, and everyone appreciated the calming presence of the animals.
On a more bittersweet note, we must share that we recently said goodbye to one of our cherished School Therapy Dogs, Max. Sadly, Max passed away this week after a long and happy life. For 14 years, he brought joy, comfort, and companionship to James our students and staff. He will be deeply missed, but we are grateful for the love and support he brought to our school community.
As we continue through this term, we have many more activities and learning opportunities to look forward to. We hope everyone is feeling refreshed and ready for the busy weeks ahead!
