Learn 4 Life Newsletter  6th September 2024

Welcome back! I hope you all had a restful and enjoyable summer break. We are thrilled to see the students back, ready for what promises to be an exciting and productive year ahead. It has been fantastic to see how engaged and motivated the pupils have been in their subjects this first week back.

This year, we have packed the calendar with enriching trips, events, and activities to enhance both academic learning and personal growth. Some highlights include our planned trips to the beautiful Lake District, animal therapy days for a bit of relaxation and mindfulness, and a host of external speakers who will be joining us to inspire and motivate. In addition, we have introduced valuable extra-curricular opportunities like CPR courses, including this week’s engaging virtual RevivR course, where pupils learned this life-saving skill with enthusiasm. It has been a fantastic start!

We are also proud to offer a variety of extra-curricular activities to suit all interests. From hands-on workshops to outdoor experiences, there will be something for everyone. Keep an eye on the school calendar for all the exciting events coming up!

A Few Reminders:

  • School timings: As a reminder, school starts at 9:15 am. and finishes at 3:15 pm. from Monday to Thursday. On Fridays, we continue with our early finish at 2:30 pm. Please ensure transport arrangements are in place for these times.
  • Attendance: If your child is going to be late or unwell, please notify Nicola in the school office no later than 9:30 am. Your cooperation with this helps us maintain smooth operations.

New Timetable Adjustments:

You may have noticed a slight change to the daily timetables. In our commitment to excellence and our ongoing strive toward becoming an outstanding school, we have restructured the last 45-minute session of the day. This time will now be dedicated to academic studies rather than social time, allowing students to focus on reinforcing key learning points and supporting their overall achievement continue to excel, grow, and make the most of the rich opportunities we have in store.

Support for Years 10 and 11:

For our Year 10 and 11 students preparing for their exams, we are launching a Revision Club to help with English, Maths, and Science. This will run every Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday from 3:15 pm. to 4:15 pm. It is designed to ease the burden of revision at home and provide a supportive environment for students to study with guidance from their teachers.

We truly value your continued support, and together, I am confident that we will make this a fantastic year for our school community. I look forward to seeing our students continue to excel, grow, and make the most of the rich opportunities we have in store.
